Meet The craftsman

Selman K.

Selman K., born in 1992, is a Bookbinding and Illumination artist. He graduated from Selçuk University’s Traditional Turkish Arts Department, specializing in Illumination, and earned a master’s degree in Bookbinding Art from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts Academy. He also trained in bookbinding and paper conservation. During his studies, he published a thesis and later books and articles on Bookbinding Art. He has worked on restoration and conservation in Istanbul’s museums and libraries with large manuscript collections.

Skilled in Classical Islamic Bindings, he creates original designs and has won international awards in Bookbinding Art. He has participated in and curated numerous national and international exhibitions. Beyond bookbinding, he works in Photography, Graphics, Printing Arts, and enjoys philately. He founded the Bookbinder Art Studio, where he teaches and produces works in Bookbinding and Illumination Art.
