Personalized Nikkahnama — Bilingual Arabic & English Marriage Certificate

$124.99

For centuries, the nikahnama has been one of Islam’s most beautiful traditions. A decorated marriage certificate that served as a treasured keepsake of a wedding day. Across the Islamic world, these ornate certificates were embellished and designed as carefully considered as the vows they recorded.

This Nikkahnama revives that tradition, uniting authentic Arabic Thuluth script with English calligraphy in a bilingual piece that is both a formal record of union and a work of art worthy of display.

At its heart is the blessed verse from Surah An-Nisa (4:1):

“O Mankind, be God-fearing unto your Lord Who created you from a single soul and created of it its mate and from them two spread far myriads of men and women.”

The certificate includes personalized fields for the names of the bride and groom, along with dedicated signature lines for both partners and two witnesses. Printed to archival quality, it is a beautiful addition to the home that honours centuries of Islamic heritage with grace and intention.

Available in select colours to complement your wedding palette.

A meaningful gift for newlyweds, a cherished keepsake for anniversaries, or a beautiful addition to the Islamic home.

Rizwan Ahmed Khan (b. 1991) is a classically trained calligraphic artist who has been practising scribal crafts since 2015. In 2018 he decided to leave a promising career as a software professional to migrate to Istanbul and train in the Ottoman tradition of Islamic calligraphy.

He has trained in Western and Islamic calligraphy under various masters. In 2022 he was awarded the prestigious icazetname (calligrapher’s licence) by his Islamic calligraphy masters at the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (İRCİCA), Istanbul.

Rizwan currently resides in London, practising and teaching as an artist.
